Emily King Editorial Services

Whether this is your first time having your work edited or you’ve had bad experiences with editing in the past, fear not. I (and most editors in general) want to help make your writing the best it can be for your readers. Receiving feedback is never easy, but it is a necessary part of the writing process. My job is to deliver edits, insights, and advice that will improve your current project. But my goal is to do so in a way that will help you understand the reasoning behind the edits and notes so that you can apply those techniques in future writing projects. My writing has been reviewed by peers, professors, colleagues, and management over the years, so I can relate to what you’re going through at this stage. I will be the thorough and honest—yet gentle and kind—editor you need.
I line edit, copyedit, and proofread a variety of fiction and nonfiction trade books, educational material, business reports, marketing materials, and online content. I also offer fiction manuscript assessments. If you’re a publisher, independent author, nonprofit, or business in need of these types of editing, please reach out to see if I can help you with your project.
